Take Back the Tap   1 comment

I found this great video on YouTube today.  It shows how bottled water manufacturers got started and why they’re successful.  It also shows the side effects of bottled water, one of which being waste.  This waste isn’t just the plastic used for the bottles, but the fossil fuels used to create the plastic and ship this bulk-gaining product thousands of miles to its destination.

Now, I don’t go as far as to call for a bottled water ban.  Bottled water can be appropriate in certain circumstances.  For example, when your tap water isn’t safe to drink.  But instead of stopping at the gas station and picking up a bottle of plain drinking water, consider investing in a reusable bottle for your commute.
